20 Best Places to Buy Plus-Size Lingerie in 2024

Finding the right underwear is crucial for feeling both comfortable and sexy. And, according to designer and seamstress Aaronica B. Cole, "Shopping for plus size bras, panties and lingerie can be really hard. As a person in a bigger body, I still want things to be sexy on me and I want them to feel good." She adds that, in addition to sometimes feeling the lack of options, she also dislikes the fabrics that some brands use. "Just to throw an additional monkey wrench into the mix, I had a double mastectomy this year, so I don't do underwire anymore."

Plus-size fashion specialist Hannah Schneider says that a truly inclusive lingerie brand will pay close attention to the "unique design needs of different body types, such as providing adjustable features, stretch materials, and thoughtful construction to enhance comfort and fit." It can be challenging to parse out the brands paying lip service to size inclusion and those that generally commit to offering plus-size options. "To discern a truly size-inclusive brand from one that isn't, it's essential to look beyond marketing claims and assess the actions, representation, and commitment to inclusivity," she says.

We spoke with Schneider, Cole, Silvia Campello, general manager for Cosabella, and Ra’el Cohen, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of ThirdLove. They spoke about design considerations for plus-size lingerie, what to look for (and what to avoid), and their favorite places and pieces for plus-size lingerie.

Parade Perfect Lace Thong

Parade

With sizing up to 5XL (28–30), Parade prides itself on its inclusivity. It has bras and underwear in all shapes and coverage, and it also has bodysuits, corsets, and catsuits as well as loungewear and even everyday clothing. This is Cole's favorite place to get plus-size lingerie, thanks to its quality, size-inclusivity, fit (she has a long torso), and sexiness. She loves the brand’s signature mesh material. "Mesh can sometimes feel stiff and rough, but not theirs. My favorite bralette is the deep plunge. It's smooth, soft, and feels amazing," she says.

Reviewers do sometimes write that they aren't the most long-lasting pieces (which makes sense, given the lower price tag). But Cole notes the fact that they're not expensive is part of the appeal for her. There are often good sales and opportunities to save more by bundling. I happen to love the underwear and have several pairs — just note that some colors sell out quickly but restock as often as possible.

Savage X Fenty

Savage x Fenty Microfiber T-Shirt Bra

Savage x Fenty

Both Cole and Schneider love this brand (In Cole's words, "I'm addicted to all things Rihanna!"). Savage x Fenty goes up to 46H in some sizes (and 4X in clothes) and comes in cool colors and sexy shapes — and also pretty decent prices, especially if you're a VIP member. According to Cole, "[The brand] recently released a cotton basics collection that feels amazing. I'm a sucker for mesh so I also love those options. But my absolute favorites are the crotchless panties and the Brazilian cut. It gives cheeky without the wedgie!" From an inclusivity standpoint, she says, "[Rihanna] has a fashion show that really emphasizes diversity — not just Black or white or thin or fat but also differently abled," which is another point in its favor for her. It also offers sportswear and loungewear, if you just can't get enough of the edgy aesthetic.

The Cosabella Extended Collection is designed to fit 36DD to 40DD. "Our customers requested more size inclusion, and we listened," Campello says. The Never Say Never Extended Racie Racerback Bralette is a customer favorite: with over 1,200 reviews from customers raving about coverage and comfort. The Cosabella Never Say Never Extended Plungie Bralette is also great for support, in part because of its wider straps and back band. "Always remember that the support comes from the band," Campello says, adding, "Ultimately, the goal is to create a combination of style and functionality, ensuring that extended-size lingerie is both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable no matter the size."

Cacique

Cacique

Schneider likes this brand for a solid lingerie pick. While the product selection isn't quite as wide-ranging as other options on this list, the line still has some options in fun colors (that you can mix and match for a custom feel). Some styles go up to 54K, making it an impressively inclusive sizing option. It also has sleep and lounge, semi-sheer lingerie options, shapewear, and swimwear. Reviewers write that it can run a tiny bit small — and you might need to buy the size above just to make sure it fits. "Finally some great style with a ton of support!” writes one reviewer about the Cotton Boost Plunge Bra with Lace. “The design is flattering and gives the girls a perfect rounded lifted shape. The material is comfortable and breathable and so soft.”

Hanky Panky

Hanky Panky

Hanky Panky

Cole loves Hanky Panky because it has both plus and petite sizing, and particularly loves the lacey underwear (like this Signature Lace Thong pack). "They are so soft and comfortable, making it easy to just be in the moment" without constantly having to tug at them or rearrange them while you wear them, she says. The sizing goes up to 3X, and the products range from the most minimal thong all the way up to the full-coverage brief. (Note that this is probably not the place for finding a plus-size bra, because its best inclusive options primarily consist of full-coverage camis as of this writing.) The brand also has a surprisingly robust line of crotchless thongs, teddies, and panties.

Believe it or not, Etsy does have size-inclusive options for lingerie (sometimes these are customizable, so expect longer delivery times when that's the case). For the high-rated sellers especially, reviewers write that they love the responsiveness of the customer service, especially if an item doesn't fit or meet their standards and needs to be replaced. From a sexy one-piece with included over-the-knee socks, to a pretty lace fringe skirt, to a backless thong-style bodysuit, this is the place to find unique lingerie options. So, if you have a vision for the type of lingerie set you want, Etsy may be the place — and some stores can make custom garments if you don't find exactly what you're looking for.

ThirdLove, which uses a proprietary fit-finder to measure breast shape and the best style for it, has some fan-favorite bras that go up to 48I in some styles. According to Cohen, the range of styles offers support to prevent back and shoulder pain, eliminating the overall discomfort for plus-size bras. The 24/7 Perfect Coverage Bra is specially tailored to those with a larger cup size — the memory foam straps and flexible underwire mold to your body. The 24/7 Unlined Minimizer Bra reduces one's bust up to two inches if you want a bra that holds you in tightly; it also converts to an X-back. If you prefer an unlined bra, opt for the light-feeling but still-supportive 24/7 Second Skin Unlined Bra. And, if bras don't usually fit you very well and you need a measuring system that fits you exactly, Cohen explains that the "Form 360 Fit Wireless Bra was the first bra made using Precise Size technology to offer three times as many sizes as the average bra retailer does, with + and ++ sizes to accommodate larger breasts."

Bare Necessities

Bare Necessities carries several brands, and its DD+ section has, as of this writing, more than 700 options to choose from. Including Panache, Bare, Wacoal, Elomi, Goddess, and other best-selling brands, there are often sales that offer discounts — so keep an eye out if you like a particular (more expensive) brand. There’s also a signature Bare Necessities selection; it's not a huge selection, but it offers a T-shirt bra, contour bra, lace bra, and front-close bra, among others. The collection goes up to 46H and comes in a few colors, making it a nice basic choice. Not every bra is available in every size, though, so just keep an eye out to make sure it has the right band and cup size.

Love, Vera

Love, Vera Embroidered Floral 3 Piece Garter Set Lemon Verbena Curvy

Love, Vera

Love, Vera has a cool story around creating opportunities for Black women in fashion and, as it says, is "raising the bar for representation and inclusivity" — including hiring Black models with diverse looks and prioritizing a relationship with customers. If you're looking for sexy plus-size lingerie at semi-affordable prices, this is the place to go. The designs are innovative and deeply sexy, with the Nia Lace Mesh Lace-Up Teddy and the Glittering Embroidered 3-Piece Garter Set being particular standouts. It has dedicated "curvy" styles, which makes it easier for you to search for products in extended sizes.

Even though Torrid is on the lower end of the price and quality scale, "it always gives sexy, alternative vibes. " says Cole. "[There’s] a really great collection of wire-free bras that offer support, which I definitely love…All the cutout lingerie pieces give confident, sexy, badass — things I feel aligned with." The babydoll slips are also best sellers, as well as the G-strings (which are sometimes bundled together for even more savings). The brand’s sizing goes up to 48C (or 6X, in some of the items), and everything's designed to be supportive. It also has fun, edgy options, like this strappy harness with a garter that goes up to 6X.

Huha Triangle Bra

Huha

Schneider calls this brand the best underwear she’s ever tried, ever. Its offering is more minimal and basic — no major frills here, and not a ton of options — but the simplicity is part of its charm. This is mineral lingerie, meaning it has a zinc-infused, mineral-protected liner designed to keep you fresh for longer (a must if you get sweaty easily in those areas). There’s a triangle bra, bralette, and sporty bralette, as well as a variety of bottoms, from a thong to a bikini, brief, and boxer (among others). One thing to note: If you have an allergy to zinc or need to avoid certain minerals, just bear that in mind.

Fleur du Mal

This is on the "luxury" end of the pricing spectrum, but these gorgeous pieces are meant to be shown off — especially since the visible underwear trend has been popular in the 2020s.

Jennifer Zuccarini, who had a long career at Victoria's Secret, understands how to make luxury lingerie. Not all the products have inclusive sizing, but the ones that do go up to 40G, including the Lily Embroidery Plunge Demi Bra and Sheer Tulle Demi Bra. Many of the garments have folded edges and stretch fabrics that are designed to lay more easily against the skin without tugging or chafing, and customers say they're as comfortable as they are attractive.

Amazon Avidlove Plus Size Lingerie Set

Amazon

Much like Etsy, there's a ton of variety here to choose from — simply search for plus-size lingerie, then sort by best-selling and check out the reviews. It can be harder to gauge the quality of the items, and the lower price on a number of these can mean the material quality is lower (like a polyester blend, for example — which can cause chafing or irritation). Avidlove looks to be one brand that's highly rated, offers an array of colors, and goes to extended sizes, as with this babydoll nightie that goes to 4XL and this lingerie bodysuit that goes all the way to 5XL.

TomboyX Bra

TomboyX

Designed to be underwear for people anywhere on the gender and size spectrum, TomboyX carries sizes ranging from XS to 6X. They could not be more comfortable, whether it's the classic soft bra that offers support without constriction (it's a best seller for a reason) or the compression tops, racerback bras, adaptable bras, and bralettes. The brand offers boy shorts (a favorite of mine), trunks, thongs, and bikinis, among others. Items are made with polyester to dry quickly and wick moisture, and there's no underwires or padding, which makes this the perfect everyday lingerie. Plus, everything comes in fabulous colors as well as simple neutrals.

Cuup now has a 40–44 bands section, which includes 38H, 40B–40G, 42C-42F, 44C-44E (and XXXL in bottoms). It takes a minimalistic approach to its offerings, with an aim to be simple and comfortable without padding, lift, or frills. The most popular is the Wireless Plunge Mesh, which lifts and separates without underwire or constrictive material. The brand also has a mesh balconette if that works better for your body, and the wireless plunge also comes in modal if you'd rather have a material that isn't see-through. There’s also a variety of underwear in different levels of coverage, with mesh and modal offerings as well.

glamorise-bras-amazon

Amazon

Schneider loves this brand for its size-inclusive bras. It also has a ton of styles available, including wire, wireless, wide-strap, and bralette. The WonderWire Front Closure Bra has over 2,700 positive reviews on the site and goes up to 50H in sizing. Reviewers write that it runs true to size (if a little small) and doesn't pinch or dig on the sides. One of the other best sellers is a posture back bra, designed to help minimize back pain with criss-crossed panels for extra support. The "no bounce" cami sports bra is exactly what it sounds like: designed to hold you in during exercise.

This more upscale brand isn't as cheap as some of the others on this list. But the brand is sold at retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Amazon. Sizing can run to 44F (the briefs go up to XXL) and it's apparently one of the few plus-size underwire bras that doesn't pinch, chafe, or need adjusting — another fan favorite is the Pure Luxe Underwire T-Shirt Bra. Reviewers say they love everything — except that it doesn't come in more colors. "This bra fits me so well it was shocking. I’m a 38H and finding such a large cup with a smaller band is hard,” one writes.

Solstice Intimates

Solstice Intimates Bra

Solstice Intimates

Solstice hand-makes custom pieces, but the ready-to-wear line is fabulous all on its own. The designs are so cool, with more straps and ties than you see on other decorative lingerie lines (they're apparently inspired by vintage pieces). This AG Mesh Ouvert Harness Underwear, for example, is incredibly ornate and, frankly, very sexy. And the Honeybuns Velvet Pirouette Triangle Bralette has a fun crossover strap style that weaves across the back, onto the abdomen, and then onto the back again. Sizing goes up to 3XL, and if you like a quirky aesthetic, this is the store for you.

Chantelle Lingerie

Another brand available at Nordstrom, Chantelle Lingerie is also available at other retailers including Bare Necessities and Neiman Marcus. It specializes in underwire bras (although there are wire-free options on the site). The C Magnifique Underwire Minimizer Bra minimizes your bust line by up to one inch and comes in eight colors. Over 1,000 reviewers say that, even when they've been longtime fans of Chantelle, they particularly like this bra for its comfort, style, and appearance when they wear it. Try the Norah Comfort Underwire Bra or the Rive Gauche Full Coverage Underwire Bra, other fan favorites, if you're not into the minimizer style.

What to Keep in Mind

Fit

This one probably sounds like a no-brainer, but the lingerie needs to fit your body well — which may be trickier than it sounds. "All bodies go through changes, so it’s important to measure yourself frequently to make sure you are in the best size and fit," explains Campello. A person’s bra size changes an average of six times in their life, Cohen points out, so getting a fit check every so often can help.

Construction and Quality

As Cole notes, for the selection of her own lingerie, "I like higher quality items that are going to have longevity!" According to Campello, for Cosabella this includes wider straps, supportive, soft, stretchy materials, ample coverage where it's needed, customization, and "strategic placement of seams for a flattering fit." For ThirdLove, Cohen notes that the brand also focuses on wider straps, flexible underwire, and additional hook-and-eye closures, with the ultimate priority "to provide ample lift, separation, and support for larger breasts."

Unique Features and Comfort

This can include design elements like texture, underwire, seaming, straps, and coverage, and they all depend on personal preference. "Customers should consider important factors like the product’s comfort and stretch, making sure it feels good against the skin and provides flexibility. Look for lingerie with flat seams to minimize bumps or irritation, and prioritize good-quality fabric," Campello says.

Consistency

A great brand will recognize that size diversity should be integrated into the entire product range. In other words, says Schneider, there should be "inclusive sizing across all [the brand’s] collections and product lines, not just in a limited 'plus-size' section.”

Your Questions, Answered

What's the best place to buy plus-size lingerie?

Any brand on this list works well, but our plus-size experts particularly liked Parade, Savage x Fenty, Cosabella, ThirdLove, and Huha for basics. No matter where you shop, do your research, and look at the reviews — particularly people who have your same bra or underwear size.

What makes a brand size-inclusive?

Truly inclusive brands go beyond lip service to take meaningful steps to cater to different bodies. Schneider says that this includes "a diverse range of sizes that…includes extended sizes for both smaller and larger bodies. They understand that bodies come in various shapes and sizes and aim to cater to as many of them as possible." Beyond inclusive sizing that includes accessible design considerations, look for inclusive fit models (i.e., people of different sizes, genders, races, ethnicities, and persons with disabilities), transparent sizing, and inclusive advertising: "They avoid tokenism and ensure that their marketing is authentically inclusive," Schneider says. Most important of all might be the ability to listen to customer feedback and evolve as necessary: "They are transparent about their efforts to become more size-inclusive and acknowledge any past shortcomings."

Why are some lingerie brands so expensive?

In short: Because you get what you pay for. Non-polyester lingerie (especially those that offer stretch, support, and/or moisture-wicking properties in their materials) are more expensive to make. However, brands with a size-inclusive ethos will be paying attention to price, says Schneider. “[Their] price points for all sizes are consistent and fair. Some brands unfairly charge more for larger sizes, which is not truly inclusive. A size-inclusive brand avoids this practice."

What should I avoid in lingerie?

Any rough or irritating fabrics will just cause chafing, discomfort, or itchiness, explains Cohen. "Stay away from lingerie with poorly designed straps that dig into the shoulders or underwire that doesn't provide adequate support," she says, adding that in general, you should "avoid choosing lingerie that doesn't offer a wide range of sizes or doesn't consider your specific measurements."
