FIFA 23 ratings as 23 best players are revealed - but Cristiano Ronaldo's stats plummet

Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have suffered downgrades in FIFA 23, as EA Sports confirm the 23 highest-rated players in this year's game.

FIFA 23 will be officially released in the UK and worldwide on Friday, September 30, 2022, and ahead of the upcoming launch, EA Sports has confirmed which players feature in the 23 highest-rated players in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team this year. Despite being downgraded from 93 to 91, Paris Saint-Germain forward Messi is one of five players to share the top spot as the highest-rated player.

But Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo will have the lowest FIFA Ultimate Team rating since FIFA 11 in FIFA 23, with the former Real Madrid forward being downgraded from an overall rating of 91 to 90 in FIFA 23, with his pace also dropping to a leisurely 81 out of 99.

Here are the confirmed 23 highest-rated players in FIFA 23 this year, as confirmed by EA Sports today.

The biggest winners in FIFA 23 are Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbapppe and Kevin De Bruyne, who joins Lionel Messi as the joint highest-rated player in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team this year.

  • Benzema, who is tipped to win this year's Ballon d'Or, has seen his rating increase by two points from 89 to 91, whilst Lewandowski actually suffers a minus one downgrade, but is still ranked as the joint-best player in the game.

    Mbappe and De Bruyne retain their 91 overall ratings, whilst Messi drops down from 92 to 91 but retains is also ranked among the highest-rated players.

    Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have risen up the list after being upgraded from 89 to 90 overall, whilst new Man City star Erling Haaland also features on the list, one of three City players to make the top 23, along with Ederson and De Bruyne.

    Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has also received a downgrade from 90 to 89, and is now the same rating as his teammate Heung-Min Son.
